January 26, 2015 the NIDA put on an Drug chat day where schools could register and their students can ask doctors and experts questions about various topics ranging from drugs, pregnancy, and alcohol. This year they had 61 schools participation and over 7,000 questions submitted. The good thing about having this drug chat day, is that kids get a chance to ask questions and get an expert answer. They can also read other submitters questions, its some what anonymous, so kiddos wouldn't feel the pressure of being judged on their curiosity. We were assigned to ask at least 2 questions to participate in the drug chat day. Some of the questions that were submitted were actually really good, not what you would expect from kids in elementary school.

Body Worlds Adventure
I really enjoyed the field trip to the Body Worlds Museum! I still can't wrap my head around the fact that they were real bodies! I was amazed on how intricate and detailed everything was. I was able to grasp how all the organs fit inside the body. It also really helped having back ground knowledge about the body. It is way to had to pick a favorite exhibit because it all fascinated me. |
